Big School (Dallas / Ft Worth Children’s Photographer)

Sorry I have been MIA – the start of Kindergarten was somewhat traumatic for me.  I was crying as I walked him into school – I just could not hold it back.  I don’t think he saw me though.  I know all the teachers saw my tears and probably thought I was a lunatic.  Now we just have to adjust to very early mornings and all of the items I am responsible for – making sure all of the following occurs before he leaves our house at 7:15am: the lunch made and packed, towel packed, water bottle packed, snack (labeled separately) and packed, correct shoes in, forms filled out and returned, forms read and new clothing on (not what he wore the day before, because I think they might notice and call CPS) — YUCK!!!  Luckily my fantabulous husband gets up and takes him to school.

WOW!  Who knew big school would be so much work!

Well – I have officially started my holiday season and have been shooting like mad.  I have a few to share of some of my favorite kids.  These children have the most beautiful eyes ever!  I do nothing to enhance them – I am not a big fan of enhanced eyes, but in this case there would have been nothing to do. I think I also love these kids because they spend every summer at the best camp in the world! (IMO) Camp Longhorn in Burnett, Texas.  I went for 8 years growing up and I am a huge fan of not only this camp, but any camp experience.

 OK – back to work – but I thought I would share.

Beautiful Girl

I recently had the opportunity to shoot this beautiful girl.  This little girl just signed with the Kim Dawson Agency and WOW – I really think she will do well.  Child models are so fun to shoot, because they want to have their picture taken.  In fact, they love having their pictures taken.  She listened to me and did everything I asked.  I hope her Daddy owns a very large bat – because, he will certainly be beating off the boys with it some day.

Another First!

One of my very favorite baby planners turned one recently.  His Mom and I both cried at his last session – she has been such an amazing client – in fact, I don’t think I have anyone else who gets quite as excited as she does for her pictures.  I am so sad I will not be able to see them for another year.  We are already planning awesome things for his two year shoot.  I can’t wait Baby B!

Stylish Family ( Dallas / Ft Worth Family Photographer)

I recently had the opportunity to work with a family that I was so giddy to shoot.  Not only were they a super great family that love being with each other, they were rock stars when it came to their clothing choices.  They were not all wearing the same thing – but they coordinated amazingly well!  I will be offering styling consultation in the future if clients request it.  I will even shop for you online – why not spend your money – I am really good at spending other people’s money – ask my husband!  Check out these beautiful children!

A Little Sneak Peak! (Dallas / Ft Worth Baby Photographer)

I shot two babies back to back the other night.  They had both just recently celebrated their one year birthdays.  I love this age – they can be hard to catch, but they are just precious if you can get them contained.  This first little girl was on my baby plan and then some!  You can see right away how we got her to sit still.

Summer’s End {Dallas / Ft Worth Children’s Photographer}

Welcome to my new blog!  This summer has been full of crazy projects and awesome trips.  One of these projects, was working with the incredible Lisa Reichman to completely overhaul my business identity.  We worked on everything from my logo, my website, and now my blog.  If you are looking for a graphic designer – she is incredible!

Can you believe summer is almost over – one week left and I am really sad.  The start of the school year means many things for me.

  1.  The beginning of my crazy holiday season – We have been booked through the end of the year since June 3rd.  We opened our Christmas booking on June 1st this year and you all were on it!  I feel so blessed by my customer’s response and I just thank each of you for helping spread the word about my business and what I do.   We are booking now for January and February of 2009.
  2. My oldest starts Kindergarten next Monday.  I have one week left with him before he morphs into a big kid – this makes me really really sad.  You see I already held him back – he has a late summer birthday – and while I know that he is so ready to take this step, I am just scared to put him out there.
  3. The last thing that the summer’s end means, is that SOONER FOOTBALL is right around the corner.  I think we are ranked 5th in the preseason polls.  Yes – you are going to have to once again listen to my ranting and ravings about college football.  It is a sickness in our house I tell you and I can’t wait for it to start!

Here are some of my favorite beach images.  Spending all of July in paradise is something I could definitely get used to.  I got to meet some great new families and I got to see several old customers.  I even took one last minute session, which I normally never do, but I did and they turned out to be some of my favorite images.  Check out some of my favorite images from the beach.
