I just realized I had forgotten to blog this fabulous threesome.  This sweet family was awesome.  I especially liked their oldest – just is super smart and super beautiful girl- but she LOVES bugs, digging in the dirt, and being active.  Apparently, she actually broke her arm after I left.  Thank God it was not during the session – that would have definitely put a damper on our session!  Meet Abby, Max and Charlie.  I hope you feel better Abby!

Baby Fever – dallas baby photographer

It has been raining newborns around here!  Not sure what was in the water 9 months ago, but we have had so many newborns the past few months and I still have a ton scheduled.  Meet baby Drew.  I shot his Mommy about 3 months ago and we have all been waiting for this precious soul to arrive.  Welcome to the world sweet baby boy.  He never slept for me, but I was still able to get some beautiful ones of him!

Enjoy!

10 Months – Dallas Children’s Photographer

Third time was a charm!  Sweet Parker’s session was scheduled two other times and we were rained out.  Well last week, we were blessed with an amazingly beautiful day!  She is getting so big and I can’t wait until she is up and walking during her next session!

A Magical Afternoon – Dallas Children’s Photographer

This past week, I shot a long term client of mine, who I adore.  I usually shoot at their house or I even got to shoot them last summer in Florida – but this time, I talked them into an afternoon session outside.  It was a magical afternoon – not too hot, not too windy, and the perfect location.  I love this family so much and I think the kids even look forward to our time together.  They call me “Miss Catherine Clay”  and hug me often during the session, which I LOVE!!!!  Anyway – we had a great time and Dad even stopped in for some pictures with his beautiful wife!  Seriously, she looks amazing and in all white, I might add!

Meet my buddies Avery, Jack, and Reed!  Look forward to seeing you guys again this summer in Watercolor!

A Family Affair

When I originally got the call to shoot five kids, I almost said no.  Quite honestly, trying to wrangle five kids does not sound like much fun to me.  People who have birthed 5 – hats off!  I could never do it!  This family, totally proved me wrong.  The ages of these kiddos actually worked to my benefit.  That and the fact that they wanted me to take their picture really helped.  Anyway, I am thrilled at how this session turned out and I am honored that they chose me to capture their extended family!

Three Boys

It always amazes me how when a family with two of the same sex children, go for a third, they always end up with the same sex.  I can’t tell you how many people I know who have 3 boys or 3 girls.

Meet baby Peter – he is the precious brand new baby brother for Jack Henry and George.

A Trip to Tulsa

I recently made a special trip to Tulsa to attend the Tulsa Cattle Baron’s Ball.  If you are not aware of this amazing fund raiser it is a wonderful one to get involved with as well as it is really fun to attend.  My husband and I have been supporters of the Dallas Cattle Baron’s Ball for several years now.  It supports the American Cancer Society, in fact it is the largest fund raiser that this organization has. Everyone’s life has been touched by cancer and so I strongly believe that we need to do everything we can to help find a cure! I have very good friends who helped put the Tulsa Ball on and we were honored to attend after all of their hard work.

I also had the opportunity to shoot a family I had been dying to shoot.  I typically do not travel to shoot – except to Florida in JULY.  It is not that I am not interested in travel, but I am usually so busy here, it is hard to break away to shoot elsewhere.  Every now and then you meet someone who has such an affinity for good photography, you want to shoot them.  These people are every photographer’s dream clients.  They get what you are doing, your style, your art.  They don’t want to tell you what to do, they want you to do what you feel will be best.  This person trusted me to capture her children as they are, not forced to smile and all look at the camera, but to capture her children and their love for each other- like I said – she is a dream!   I know my style is not for everyone – but when you find a client who wants you for you – I was just about willing to fly anywhere to shoot her!

Meet Reed, Walker, and sweet Ellie.

Florida

I always look forward to going on vacation, but I also dread the fact that I take way too many pictures.  My family and friends always get my worst when it comes to timelines.  This past Spring Break, I took about 1200 images.  I cut it down to about 450 to edit – which is a bunch!  Anyway – I am still working through many of them, but I wanted to share some of my favorites so far.  My sister and my mo went with us this time.  It was my nephew’s first time at the ocean – which was so fun to capture.  Florida is definitely my “happy” place.  I love it there and will be back there this summer for the month of July.  I will be taking limited sessions while there and have already booked several weeks.  So if your interested and happen to be going to Watercolor, Seaside, Alys Beach, or Rosemary Beach – email us soon to secure your spot.  If I can’t fit you in, or if you are visiting at another time during the summer,  please call a couple I highly recommend.  Marla and Shane Carter – they live in this paradise year round and have an amazing talent – not to mention they are pretty cool people too!

Enjoy!

Spring is Here! Dallas, Tx Child Photographer

I think it is official!  Dallas is finally green!  We still need more rain apparently, but we have now had enough rain to bring out the bluebonnets and the rest of the wildflowers, which I love!  Two weeks ago, I met a really great family at a local park.  It was a beautiful afternoon to enjoy the wildflowers!

Bailey and Chloe, Dallas, Tx Child Photographer

I loved these little girl’s names!  Chloe the baby was one of the happiest babies I have photographed in a long time.  I think this Mommy had a difficult time choosing, which always means I have done my job!  If you are wondering why there is an umbrella in one of the pictures, Bailey is in love with Mary Poppins.  She pretends to be her all the time.  I love this because, not only can I sing every song from that movie, I also secretly pretended that I could fly using an umbrella as a child.
