BOO! – Dallas / Ft Worth Children’s Photographer

Today is Halloween and I wanted to showcase a few of the precious kiddos I have had the opportunity to shoot over the last month.  In a Catherine Clay Photography photo session, I always recommend having your children change clothes at least once.  This year I had several families who wanted me to shoot their kids in their costumes.  What fun.  The spiderman and batman were blown up into huge canvases for these boy’s super hero rooms.  I thought this was a fantastic idea.  I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!  More soon, I promise!!!

Beautiful Blue Eyes – Dallas Children’s Photographer

Sorry I have been so terrible about blogging lately.  I have been making up sessions at a crazy pace and when things get crazy, my blog unfortunately takes the hit.  I even shot today – I don’t work weekends, but have had to make exceptions due to all of the rain outs we have had in North Texas.  Today, actually turned out to be a beautiful day.  I met this precious little girl Alex with her Mommy and Daddy today at the park – we had a wonderful time and I truly enjoyed getting to work outside, especially with this little one!  I will try to post more soon! PROMISE!!

Breast Cancer Auction Last Day – Catherine Clay Photography

Today is it!  The auction expires this evening at midnight.  The bid is currently over 1500 dollars with 100% going directly to finding a cure!!!  I am so blown away by the close to 50 bids that have already been bid toward this auction and I just want to say thank you, thank you!!!  I seriously had no idea if anyone would bid and considered calling my Mom to ask her to bid if no one did.  Well – you all have blown me away!  Please forward this auction to anyone who might be interested.  Because I am willing to travel anywhere in the continental US, think of all the possibilities.  If your family is going to Florida to the beach or even Disney World over the next year, I could come too and capture your amazing trip.  How about pictures in New York or Maine in the fall on that anniversary trip you are planning.  Can you tell I would love to come somewhere fabulous – but I am also willing to come to your farm in rural America too.  Just think of all the possibilities!

Once again – thank you – thank you for all the outpouring of support.  I have heard from so many people who love this idea and even other photographers who are going to do the exact same thing!

On a personal note – I will be cheering for my Oklahoma Sooners this weekend, even though I am prepared for a large disappointment.  This might actually be the Longhorns year!

Because I can’t post without a picture, here are some images of past little girls who all could one day have their lives changes by breast cancer – my prayer is that this will never happen.  Have a wonderful weekend – Boomer Sooner!!!

Help Me Make a Difference – Catherine Clay Photography Breast Cancer Charity Auction

Last year, one of my best friends decided to walk the 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer.  If you are unaware of what this walk is you should definitely check out this link.  Basically, this walk is 60 miles of blood, sweat, and tears in order to raise money for breast cancer research.  Here is a quote taken from this site – “Everyone has been touched in some way by breast cancer. And recoiled from the touch. No family should lose a mother prematurely. Or a dear friend, sister, wife, daughter, co-worker. No one of us, just diagnosed, should have to look at the mirror in the morning and say: Will I survive? Everyone deserves a lifetime: We feel it deep in our bones. ”

This year, I know a ton of people walking.  I will be there to cheer them all on and of course document this amazing journey; however, I have wanted to make a difference in my own way.   I have known in my core that I was meant to help in some way other than actually walking and as fate had it, I fell in Florida and broke my ankle.  I am still on a doctor enforced sabbatical from exercise, so even if I had planned to walk, it would not have been possible.  I have decided to make this difference by doing the one thing I know how to do well – TAKE PICTURES.  I have decided to do an online charity auction on EBAY – with 100% of the proceeds going toward the Susan G Komen Foundation.  Please click here to view.

Here is the scoop – and it is really good scoop!

The highest bidder of this auction, will win a Catherine Clay Photography session for up to 4, anywhere in the continental U.S.  Yes people, you heard right – I am willing to travel at MY expense, anywhere in the continental U.S to YOU!!!!   I get emails all the time that ask if I ever come to “blank” – and, I almost always have to say no.  Well not anymore – today, I will say yes to this lucky winner and you will not pay the travel fee  - I will!  We will decide on a mutually agreed upon weekend over the next 12 months and I will be on my way.  As if that is not cool enough, I will also be including my digital collection with this session.  My digital collection includes all of the full resolution files on a disk in a custom made photo box with a 5×7 proof of all 30-40 images from your session.

What is all of this worth?  Well, your donation is priceless – it could help save or extend numerous lives.  What would all this fabulous stuff cost you if you hired me? – here is the break-down.  My regular local session fee is 200 dollars.  My digital collection is 1800 dollars.  Travel to you will vary, but I am estimating my travel and hotel fees at approximately 1000 dollars.  So, this would mean the total value of this auction would be 3000 dollars.  I am starting this auction for only 200 dollars because, quite honestly, I will be thrilled to make even that for this cause!

Please help me raise this money by spreading the word by emailing my blog to all of your friends and family across the country.  I have never done anything this public to support a cause, but I strongly believe and hope that even I can help make a difference!  Here are some of my favorite images from last years walk.

Beautiful Kate – Dallas Children’s Photographer

I had the opportunity this weekend to play dress up with some of our best friend’s daughters.  Well this little girl has the best closet of clothes anyone has ever seen – thanks to her sweet grandmother and of course her most stylish mommy.  Who knew Tory made little girl’s shoes.  I really want a pair for me – hint hint Santa!   Thank you beautiful Kate for being so good to me!  I promise to blog more sessions soon!
