Sweet Adeline -Catherine Clay Photography, Ft Worth Baby Photographer

Adeline is now 10 months old and at my very favorite stage.  She just sits and smiles!  I love this age and her Mommy always pulls out the cutest clothes ever for her to wear.  I photographed Adeline’s big sister at 10 months old several years ago and it is crazy how much they look alike.  This Mommy and Daddy sure produce some pretty babies!

On a personal note, I am leaving town on Saturday to guest speak at a workshop in Maryland, so I might be difficult to reach for a few days.  Hope everyone is enjoying this great spring weather.

Kissed by an angel – Catherine Clay Photography, Dallas Baby Photographer

Today, I had the opportunity to shoot a beautiful 3 month old baby who had been kissed by an angel.  An angel kiss is a slight pigmentation on a baby’s forehead.  This baby has one in the shape of a V and once her parents saw her, they decided to name her Vivian.  This kiss always fades within the first year of life, but I love that her parents will always be able to tell her that an angel kissed her to help name her.  Look at her beautiful lips!  Here is one sneak peak for Mommy.

Mary Evans is One – Catherine Clay Photography Baby Photographer

Last week, on a beautiful Spring day, I got to spend the afternoon with one of my favorite Fort Worth families.  This family is amazing and always makes me smile.  I have had the opportunity over the past two years to photograph them at least six times and everytime I am with them, I fall more in love!  Mary Evans has been on my baby plan over the past year and it has been so fun seeing her transform into a walking toddler.  Happy Birthday sweet girl!  Thank you again for choosing me to document your first year!!!

The Guests – Catherine Clay Photography Dallas Child Photographer

We set up a photobooth as well to take pictures of all the girls.  We told all of the girls to dress in the colors of the invitation so that the pictures would be super fun!  Here are some of the guests as they arrived.  Annabelle had a blast taking pictures with her friends, especially when they got to act super silly.  Also, I made Anica take a picture as well, and when I was editing them all, I realized that I loved it and needed to post it.  I could not have done the party without her.  Also, one special little girl had a birthday on this same day.  She was so sweet to come and celebrate with Annabelle.  Thank you Mallory for being such a big girl!

The Decorations – Catherine Clay Photography Plano Children’s Photographer

The much awaited party decorations.  I get lots of inspiration on the amazing world wide web.  My favorite party blogs are party perfect, Amy Atlas’s blog, Eat Drink Chic, and The Birthday Girl.  If you are planning a party, be sure and check out all of these sites.  They are all so creative and fantastically inspiring!  We used an awesome mom in McKinney to make the cake, cupcakes, and cookies.  Her name is Jamie Wing and she also has a blog that she shows all her work.  She is so talented and super sweet!  The polkadot plasticware is all from Target.  The rest of the paper items are from Paper Source.  We have a store at Northpark, and it is pure heaven.  At the party, the girls made bottle cap necklaces and soda jerk hats.  We also had a photobooth.  I will show pictures of the guests tomorrow.

The Birthday Invitation – Dallas Children’s Photographer Catherine Clay

This past weekend, we had my daughter’s 4th birthday.  I wanted to do something somewhat low key at the house, but something that would allow my closet party planner to emerge.  We decided to have an ice cream party.  With the help of Anica, my fabulous assistant, we have handmade most everything that went into the party and loved every minute of it.  Many of you know that probably my favorite children’s clothing line for both my daughter and my son is Boden. They now even carry it at Nordstroms – gotta love that.  Every spring and fall when I receive our Boden package, it is like opening sunshine!  When I saw this latest spring catalog and saw a particular jacket, I knew not only would Annabelle have to have it, but I wanted to plan her entire party theme around the colors in the jacket.  I even asked the little girls to come in those colors to the party.  The rest of the week, I will be blogging images from this party.  Apparently several of my awesome blog readers look forward to these images and I thank you for all of your sweet emails regarding Annabelle’s parties.  I know I have an unhealthy obsession with children’s parties.  I do not believe they need to cost a bunch of money; in fact, I prefer when they are more handmade.  I still remember when my mother taught herself to decorate cakes for my birthday parties growing up.  While I do not do my own cakes, I have found a wonderful “mom” who did do our cakes, cookies, and cupcakes that I will tell you about later this week.  She was incredible!  Here are the bday shoot images and then what her invite looked like.

Beautiful Family – Dallas Tx Child and Family Photographer

This mom called and said her daughter had her first loose tooth and wanted to get a session in as soon as possible.  The only problem has been the weather – we have had to reschedule several times over the past month and I am so happy this past week worked for everyone.  WOW – this family is beautiful and I think Mom might be into fashion as much as I am.  She showed up with an entire trunk load of clothes for the whole family.  It was awesome – I got to pick and choose from an entire wardrobe of fabulous clothing.  LOVE THIS!!  This family genuinely enjoyed being together and they were so fun.  Will, the little boy, even brought alone his guitar and serenaded me during the session.  PRECIOUS!!!!!  Meet Lauren and Will.
